Petrie's Gecko  (stenodactylus petrii)

Description: A small gecko attaining a length of just 2.5 inches. Colouring is golden to dark brown with spotting and banding in varying amounts. This is a nocturnal ground dwelling species.

Vivarium Requirements: 18 inches (length) by 12 inches (width) (height unimportant) will suit 2-3 geckos. Use sand as a substrate and provide hollow logs and a few small caves filled with damp moss. Spray the tank lightly each evening and maintain daytime temperatures of 82-90 degrees, reducing to room temperature at night.

Feeding: Small crickets, small mealworms. Dust the livefood once a week with a suitable vitamin powder.

Notes: Although males can be kept together without them fighting this is not a good idea as one will always be top male and suppress the others. Care should be taken when handling as they are so small and delicate they can be easily damaged or hurt.
